A mark of excellence: Acision nominated for two Mobile Excellence Awards
Acision has been nominated in two categories for this year’s Mobile Excellence Awards: Best International and Best Mobile Innovator. The awards, which take place on 5th December, celebrate the best in mobile innovation and are one of the most influential and coveted in the industry. Other nominees for these two categories include Pinger, Airpush, Turkcell and July Systems.
Acision’s Postpaid Hybrid Service, deployed by Aruba’s national telecommunications provider SETAR, is up for the Best International Award. The SETAR Postpaid Hybrid Service offers SETAR subscribers a range of subscription models with a post-paid reserve, so that consumers know from the outset that their bill will not exceed their agreed limit. The service, powered by Acision Charging Engine, is the first postpaid/pre-paid hybrid charging deployment of its kind, enabling subsidisation of mobile handsets and elimination of ‘bill shock’. The SETAR Postpaid Hybrid service was launched in Aruba in September 2010 to SETAR’s 85,000 mobile subscribers.
Acision has also been nominated in the Best Mobile Innovator category, for its cutting-edge ‘Collect SMS’ and’ Prepaid SMS Reply’ services. These services ensure that consumers are always able to send and receive SMS messages without a lack of credit being a hindrance. Collect SMS works by allowing a recipient who has enough credit to fund the SMS message sent to them. Alternatively, Acision Prepaid SMS Reply allows a user who has credit on a mobile device to ‘gift’ a contact an SMS, in turn allowing a recipient to respond to the message irrespective of credit. In all networks, a significant percentage of prepaid subscribers typically encounter a zero balance at some point. This is a huge loss of potential revenue as millions of messages are not delivered due to lack of credit.
As a world leader in the domains of both messaging and charging, these nominations reinforce Acision’s commitment to delivering innovative communications services to our global customer base.
